Why Take A Picture Of You?

"Why" is some start to tackle the question. However it does not answer: how? under what circumstances? In what context? or even, why not?

People can watch themselves in mirrors. Watching people is part of common social interaction. Yet, there is freedom and there are limits, alike. These limits or freedoms may be, personal, socilal, religious, economic, legal, ethic, with or without a particular reason .... . There do arise many reciprocal questions, when it comes to fixing someones likeness in time.

"Why take a picture of you" is an ongoing research based project centering around the meaning of people photography. What alternative settings of exchange and motivation can be found within human oriented photoaesthetic ecologies?
